Restoration

To complement my activities as a builder of Navy Board models, I am also interested in the restoration of old models.

This work is useful among other things to sharpen one's knowledge of the maritime world, and also to better understand the way model builders of the past thought about and completed their models.

The way of approaching a restoration project consists in respecting as much as possible the model I am working on : I do not attempt to improve the original by correcting errors that may have been made at any level during construction of the model. The objective of the work is to reconstruct the vessel as well as possible just as it was when new.
