L'Aurore, a Corvette of 1766 This fairly small vessel is especially interesting because it is one of the few rare examples of civilian construction whose documentation has survived to this day.
This corvette suggests that there may have been some British influence in the design of some fittings and rigging.
Another point of interest concerning this vessel is the fact that it is painted in order to better underline its graceful aspect and its refined decorations.
